How to add an NFC card (smart card) to your Stamp Pass — guide for restaurants

A restaurant's guide to activating an NFC card in Partner Hub, plus a ready-made guide you can share with your customers.

📍 This guide is for restaurants — how to activate a Cluby NFC card in Partner Hub and start using it right away. You'll find a ready-made customer guide at the end of this article — feel free to copy or share it directly with your customers.

Cluby NFC cards bring a physical touchpoint to your Stamp Pass: customers get a stamp simply by tapping their phone on the card — no codes to enter, no extra equipment needed. Easy for them, effortless for you.

Before you start

Have these ready:

  • A Cluby NFC card delivered by mail — the card has a unique 4-character code needed for activation

  • A Stamp Pass already created in Partner Hub (or you're starting a new one)

  • An NFC-compatible phone for testing — practically all modern smartphones work

💡 Haven't received your cards yet? Order Cluby NFC cards from the Cluby team — they're delivered straight to your venue.

1. Open Cluby Partner Hub

Log in at partners.cluby.com. From the left sidebar, go to Stamp Passes.

2. Choose a Stamp Pass

You have two options depending on whether the Stamp Pass already exists:

  • New Stamp Pass — create it first the usual way (see the separate guide). Cards can also be added during creation.

  • Existing Stamp Pass — open it from the list and click "Edit smart cards".

3. Click "Add smart card"

From the left sidebar, go to Smart Links.

In the smart card management view, click "Add smart card". A code input field opens.

4. Enter the card's 4-character code

Type the 4-character code printed on the card exactly as it appears. The code is usually on the back of the card or in a corner, printed in small text.

💡 Tip: If you received several cards at once, add them all in the same session — you'll avoid going back to the management view multiple times.

5. Save

Click Save. The card is now activated and linked to the Stamp Pass. You can test it right away.

6. Test the card with your phone

  1. Open the Cluby app on your phone and make sure you're logged in

  2. Touch the back of your phone to the NFC card (your phone's NFC antenna is usually at the top of the back cover)

  3. A Cluby NFC pop-up appears on your phone

  4. Tap the pop-up → the stamp is registered automatically

⚠️ Note: If the pop-up doesn't appear, check that NFC is turned on in your phone's settings and that you're logged in to the Cluby app.

7. Place the card somewhere visible

So your customers can find and use the card as easily as possible:

  • On the counter, in a table stand, or next to your table card works well

  • Add a short note beside it, e.g. "Tap with your phone to get a stamp"

  • Mention the card actively at the till — this boosts usage significantly

Customer guide — copy and share

This short guide is meant for your customers. You can print it, include it in a flyer, or share it digitally:

Stamping your Cluby Stamp Pass

  1. Unlock your phone

  2. Tap your phone on the NFC card at the till

  3. You'll get the stamp automatically — tap the Cluby NFC pop-up when it appears

If stamping doesn't work, check that:

  • NFC is turned on in your phone's settings

  • Your phone is unlocked

  • You're holding the phone close enough to the card (on some phones the NFC reader is at the top or back of the phone)

  • The Cluby app is updated to the latest version

Things to keep in mind:

  • NFC reading may not work in battery-saver mode

  • A thick phone case can weaken NFC performance
