Member benefits in the Cluby app — a user's guide

How to become a loyalty member at your favourite restaurant and use member benefits in the Cluby app.

Through the Cluby app you have access to member benefits at your favourite restaurants. This guide explains how to find benefits, become a member and redeem a benefit at the till.

What is a member benefit?

A member benefit is a special offer a restaurant gives to its loyalty members — e.g. "10 % off lunch", "Welcome coffee for new members" or "Whispering Angel glass €9.00". You get the benefit by showing the activated benefit at the till in the Cluby app.

💡 Each restaurant decides:

  • which benefits to offer

  • when the benefits are valid

  • who the benefits are shown to (e.g. only VIP cardholders)

Benefits may change at any time, and different benefits can apply at different times or on different days.

1. Become a loyalty member of the restaurant

You can browse a restaurant's benefits without being a member, but to redeem one you need to be a member. Joining is always free and takes a few seconds:

  1. Open the Cluby app on your phone

  2. Go to the restaurant's page

  3. Tap the "Join as a member" button on the restaurant's page

  4. Your membership is active immediately

💡 Tip: You can be a member of several restaurants at once. All your memberships and benefits show up in the My Cluby view in the app.

2. Find available benefits

On the restaurant's page you'll see all the benefits available to you. Each benefit shows:

  • Name (e.g. "Lunch offer")

  • Image and description

  • Offer price or benefit (e.g. "€9.00" or "10 % off")

  • Size/amount when relevant (e.g. "12 cl")

  • Frequency (how often you can use the same benefit)

How often you can use a benefit

Benefits are grouped by how often you can redeem the same one:

  • 🔒 One-time — usable once only (e.g. a welcome benefit for new members)

  • 📅 Daily — once a day

  • 📅 Weekly — once a week

  • 🗓️ Monthly — once a month

  • ♾️ Recurring — as many times as you like, whenever

VIP and special card benefits

Some benefits only show up for holders of certain member cards — e.g. VIP, season or partner cardholders. If you have one of these cards, you automatically see more benefits than a regular member.

💡 The restaurant may give you a special card (e.g. VIP) at the till or during a campaign. Some cards can also be purchased in the Cluby app.

3. How to activate and redeem a benefit at the till

⚠️ Activate the benefit only when you're ordering — not in advance. Activation starts a 30-second countdown, so the till needs to see the benefit while it's still active.

  1. Open the Cluby app at the till

  2. Go to the restaurant's benefits view and choose the one you want

  3. Tap the Activate button

  4. The activation view opens — the 30-second countdown starts running. The countdown changes colour as time runs low. When it ends, the benefit is used.

  5. Show the activation view to staff when ordering

  6. Staff mark the benefit as used or confirm the discount

If a benefit won't activate or doesn't work

The most common reasons and fixes:

The benefit won't activate

  • Check that you're a member — the restaurant's page should say "You're a member", not "Join as a member"

  • Update the Cluby app to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play

  • Check your internet connection — activation needs a network connection

Where did the benefit go, or why can't I activate it any more?

A benefit may look like it has disappeared, or activation might not work — the reason depends on the type of benefit:

  • 🔒 One-time benefit — once you use the benefit, it permanently disappears from the restaurant's benefits view. This is by design. The welcome benefit and other one-time benefits are meant to be used only once.

  • 📅 Daily, weekly or monthly benefit — the benefit is temporarily unavailable and resets at the start of the next period. E.g. you can use a daily benefit again the next day, a weekly one next week.

  • ♾️ Recurring benefit — you can use it without limits.

The benefit doesn't show on the restaurant's page

  • The benefit may be targeted at holders of a specific card (e.g. only VIP members)

  • The benefit may only be valid at certain times or on certain days

  • The restaurant may have temporarily hidden the benefit

4. Sending feedback

Want to give feedback about a particular benefit or a restaurant's loyalty programme?

  • Talking to the restaurant directly is usually the best route — staff can influence their own benefits

Tips for the best experience

  • Activate a benefit only when you're ordering — not in advance, so the 30-second countdown doesn't run out

  • Keep the Cluby app up to date — newest features and more stable activations
