A restaurant's guide to activating a Cluby NFC card in Partner Hub and linking it to a Stamp Pass — plus a ready-made customer guide you can share.

📍 This guide is for restaurants — how to activate a Cluby NFC card in Partner Hub and link it to your Stamp Pass. You'll find a ready-made customer guide at the end of this article — feel free to copy or share it directly with your customers.

Cluby NFC cards bring a physical touchpoint to your Stamp Pass: customers earn a stamp simply by tapping their phone on the card — no codes to enter, no extra equipment needed. Easy for them, effortless for you.

Before you start

Have these ready:

  • A Cluby NFC card delivered by post — the card has a unique 4-character code required for activation

  • An NFC-compatible phone for testing — practically all modern smartphones work

💡 Haven't received your cards yet? Order Cluby NFC cards from the Cluby team — they're delivered straight to your venue.

⚠️ Important: NFC cards are added and activated under the Action Links section — not in the Stamp Passes view. Only after that can they be linked to a Stamp Pass.

1. Open Cluby Partner Hub

2. Go to Action Links → NFC cards

  1. Open Action Links from the left sidebar.

  2. Select NFC cards — the view says "Manage NFC cards linked to your organisation".

3. Add a new NFC card

In the top right, click + Add NFC card. The Add NFC card dialog opens, with four separate boxes for entering the code.

💡 Multiple cards at once? Use the Bulk create NFC cards button — you can add several cards in one go.

4. Enter the card's 4-character code

Type the 4-character code printed on the card exactly as it appears. The code is usually on the back of the card or in a corner, printed in small text.

You can optionally open Advanced settings, but the defaults usually work fine.

5. Save and activate the card

Click Add card. The card is now activated and linked to your organisation.

💡 Tip: If you received several cards at once, add them all in the same session — you'll avoid going back to the management view multiple times.

6. Link the NFC card to a Stamp Pass

Once the cards have been activated, link them to the Stamp Pass of your choice:

  1. From the left sidebar, go to Stamp Passes.

  2. New Stamp Pass: click Create new stamp pass and choose NFC card as the stamping method. More info in this guide.

  3. Existing Stamp Pass: open the pass from the list and click Edit.

  4. Under Stamp collection, select which of the newly activated NFC cards are linked to this Stamp Pass.

  5. Save and publish your changes.

7. Test the card with your phone

  1. Open the Cluby app on your phone and make sure you're logged in

  2. Touch the back of your phone to the NFC card (your phone's NFC antenna is usually at the top of the back cover)

  3. A Cluby NFC pop-up appears on your phone

  4. Tap the pop-up → the stamp is registered automatically

⚠️ Note: If the pop-up doesn't appear, check that NFC is turned on in your phone's settings and that you're logged in to the Cluby app.

8. Place the card somewhere visible

So your customers can find and use the card as easily as possible:

  • The counter, a table stand, or beside your table card works well

  • Add a short note alongside it, e.g. "Tap with your phone to get a stamp"

  • Mention the card actively at the till — this boosts usage significantly

Customer guide — copy and share

This short guide is meant for your customers. You can print it, include it in a leaflet, or share it digitally:

Stamping your Cluby Stamp Pass with an NFC card

  1. Unlock your phone

  2. Tap your phone on the NFC card at the till

  3. You'll get the stamp automatically — tap the Cluby NFC pop-up when it appears

If stamping doesn't work, check that:

  • NFC is turned on in your phone's settings

  • Your phone is unlocked

  • You're holding the phone close enough to the card (on some phones the NFC reader is at the top or back of the phone)

  • The Cluby app is updated to the latest version

Things to keep in mind:

  • NFC reading may not work in battery-saver mode

  • A thick phone case can weaken NFC performance
